First Fridays in the Crossroads: Featuring Artist Kim Goldberg
If you've spent any time in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District, you know that First Fridays are about more than art. They're about community, conversation, creativity, and occasionally discovering something that stops you in your tracks.
That's why we're excited to invite you to our very first First Fridays in the Crossroads event on June 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., hosted in the Purpose Technology Group Workshop and featuring the work of artist Kim Goldberg.
As part of the vibrant tradition of First Fridays in the Crossroads, our team is transforming the workshop into a gallery space where visitors can experience Kim's thought-provoking work, connect with others in the community, and enjoy an evening centered around creativity and conversation.
Join Us for First Fridays in the Crossroads
The Crossroads Arts District has long been one of Kansas City's most dynamic creative hubs, and we're thrilled to become part of that tradition by opening our doors for this special event.
At Purpose Technology Group, we spend most of our days helping organizations use technology to work smarter, communicate better, and focus on what matters most. But great communities need more than technology. They need spaces where people can gather, share ideas, and experience creativity together.
That's exactly what First Fridays offer.
We believe business should be connected to the communities it serves. Sometimes that looks like strategic planning and IT support. Sometimes it looks like transforming a workshop into an art gallery for an evening. Both create opportunities for connection, and we're big fans of connection.
Featuring the Work of Kim Goldberg
Kim Goldberg, an artist and graphic designer based in Omaha, Nebraska, brings a unique experimental and conceptual approach to her work. She explores the spaces between the physical and the abstract, combining traditional materials such as paper, water, and ink with less tangible elements like time, instinct, chance, movement, and introspection.
Through this process, Kim creates pieces that invite viewers to reflect on imperfection, adaptability, openness, rehabilitation, uncertainty, and personal growth. Her work embraces the reality that life rarely follows a perfectly drawn line. Frankly, if it did, art would be much less interesting.
Kim earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. In fall 2026, her upcoming solo exhibition will be featured as part of the Jerusalem Biennale.
Why We're Hosting This Event
One assumption we often hear is that technology companies should stay in the technology lane.
We disagree.
The best communities are built when people from different industries, backgrounds, and perspectives come together. Art has a remarkable ability to spark conversations that might not happen otherwise. It encourages curiosity, challenges assumptions, and creates room for new ideas.
Those same qualities help organizations innovate and grow.
While our day jobs may revolve around technology, we're equally interested in supporting the creative energy that makes the Crossroads such a special part of Kansas City.
