First Friday at The Purpose Workshop: Meet Artist Luke Pech
Join us for Purpose After Hours on Friday, October 2 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Purpose Workshop in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District.
As part of October's First Friday celebration, we're opening our doors for an evening of art, conversation, and community featuring the imaginative photography of Kansas City artist Luke Pech.
Located at 2007 Broadway Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64108, The Purpose Workshop will transform into a gallery of tiny adventures and big creativity.
Meet the Artist: Luke Pech
Kansas City native Luke Pech (pronounced "Pesh") has a remarkable ability to find extraordinary stories in ordinary places. As the creative force behind Pech Photography, Luke is best known for his acclaimed series, Mini People on Big Adventures.
Using hand-painted miniature figurines placed within real-world environments, Luke creates playful scenes that invite viewers to see everyday objects through a completely different lens. A kitchen sink becomes a skate park. A can of sardines becomes a fishing hole. Flour becomes a snowy mountain range.
What makes his work even more impressive is that it's all created in-camera. There is no Photoshop, AI, or macro photography involved. Through careful composition and perspective, Luke transforms tiny HO-scale figurines into larger-than-life characters living out unforgettable adventures.
