A Vision Years in the Making: Stacy Rose's Journey to Launch Purpose Technology Group

Stacy Rose, founder and CEO of Purpose Technology Group

When Purpose Technology Group launched as an independent company in December, it marked more than a business transition. It was the realization of a vision that had been years in the making.

Recently featured in the Kansas City Business Journal, Founder and CEO Stacy Rose shared the journey that led to the creation of Purpose Technology Group and the passion that continues to drive its growth today.

"This is something I worked toward for a really long time, to be out on my own and doing something I love," Rose told the Kansas City Business Journal. "I'm just really excited."

A Business Built from Experience

The origins of Purpose Technology Group stem from a simple challenge: finding technology support that truly served the needs of the business.

While serving in leadership at AdamsGabbert, Rose and her team experienced firsthand the frustrations that many organizations feel when working with technology providers. Rather than accept the status quo, they took a different approach.

As Rose explained in the article:

"We started thinking well, wait a second, we're a staffing company. We could probably hire the right people to come do this internally for us, so we decided to build it ourselves."

What began as an internal solution quickly evolved into a thriving managed IT services practice focused on delivering responsive support, strategic guidance, and lasting client relationships.

Earning Trust Through Service

From the beginning, Purpose Technology Group focused on creating a better experience for clients. That commitment helped the organization achieve a remarkable 95% client retention rate during its early years.

Today, many of those same clients continue to trust Purpose Technology Group as their technology partner.

The company's growth is also reflected in recent milestones, including the addition of Cornerstones of Care as a client. The Kansas City-based behavioral and mental health nonprofit selected Purpose Technology Group through a competitive RFP process, resulting in the firm's largest client engagement to date.

Following a Purpose

Rose's path to technology leadership wasn't traditional. Her career began in education as a computer paraeducator with the Blue Valley School District before she ultimately joined AdamsGabbert in 2012.

Over the next decade, she advanced from office manager to chief operating officer, becoming a minority owner and helping shape the future of the organization.

Throughout that journey, one thing became increasingly clear: technology was where she found her purpose.

"The Purpose side of our business has always really been what speaks to my inner soul," Rose shared with the Kansas City Business Journal.

That passion continues to guide the company today. Every engagement is focused on helping organizations leverage technology to simplify operations, improve security, increase efficiency, and better serve their own customers and communities.

Looking Ahead

As an independent company, Purpose Technology Group is investing in growth, expanding its team, and continuing to build partnerships with organizations throughout the Kansas City region and beyond.

While much has changed since the company's beginnings, the mission remains the same: helping businesses use technology with purpose.
